India subsidies fuel. Anything that is subsidized tends to be over-consumed. So fuel cost as a percentage of total cost has been rising in India.
This over consumption puts pressure on Indian rupee, causes inflation and restricts use of alternate power sources. The earlier Indian government removes fuel subsidies (along with tax reductions on fuel), the better off Indians will be in the long run.
Indian government claimed that it killed 19 hardcore Maoists. 40 hours later, villagers say that these are innocent civilians. No autopsy report is available to ascertain the truth./p>
