Amartya Sen says that Indian education is of poor quality.
He is right. The reason why education is poor in India is

  • Indian government decides school / college syllabus.
  • Only books approved by Indian government can be officially used.
  • The salaries of teachers / professors are decided by Indian government.
  • Their is reservation or caste-based-promotion, not merit, in appointment and promotion of teachers / professors.
  • The school / college fees are controlled by the government
  • Indian government controls the exams for final year of school and college, before degree can be awarded.

I say, remove all governmental interventions and see education prosper in India.

In Europe, in some parts real estate is down 80% from its all time high. Anyone, who says that real estate never falls, lacks economic knowledge.
Don’t purchase real estate in India for investment. In-spite of all the government incentives and low interest rates, real estate prices are not rising. What would happen if all these incentives have to be stopped? Without government intervention real-estate would have crashed in 2008/09. Billions of rupees pumped by the government have postponed the crash and caused inflation.

How many police officers are needed to stop an unarmed woman?

It seems that the whole police force is serving politicians and not citizens.

28 people die in a burning train. Train services are poor.
North India has power failure for many hours.
I say again, privatize power and railways. Only then we will get better service at lower cost.
